Sieving, water and rosin all rely on the same anatomy of the capsule. A solvent doesn't recognise that anatomy at all – it simply dissolves whatever is soluble.

The Solvent With a Dial

CO₂ is a solvent too – but one whose dissolving power can be dialled: turn it up to dissolve, turn it down and the extract precipitates out.
